Installation

Build the documented CLI from an owner-provided checkout. Access is restricted during this pre-prod phase: no public source repository, binary download, Homebrew package, or hosted service is available.

Requirements#

  • A checkout supplied by the project owner at product revision 524fa07e0ae4153c84ac12ae9eb6559df89ec2be.

  • An Apple Silicon Mac running macOS 26 with Apple Swift 6.3.3 and its matching developer tools.

  • Git and the dependencies locked by the checkout's Package.resolved.

  • Permission to evaluate the package manifest, retrieve its locked dependencies, and build locally.

Request the pinned checkout and dependency access from the owner who supplied your copy. Reading this website does not grant access to the CLI. Do not substitute an arbitrary newer checkout for the tested snapshot.

Check the checkout and compiler#

Open a terminal in the supplied repository directory. These commands are read-only:

sh
git rev-parse HEAD
xcrun swift --version

The commit must match the revision above; the compiler must report Apple Swift 6.3.3 and an arm64 macOS target. If they differ, ask the owner for the documented environment or an updated qualification record. Do not reset a checkout containing your own changes.

Build and verify#

sh
xcrun swift build --disable-automatic-resolution --product swift-analyzer --jobs 4
export ANALYZER="$PWD/.build/debug/swift-analyzer"
"$ANALYZER" --help
"$ANALYZER" source-scan --help

Building evaluates Package.swift, may retrieve locked dependencies, and compiles the analyzer. The help must list source-scan and its --allow-build and --include-stdio-rules flags. This is a local debug build, not a separately qualified release distribution.

Keep the binary with the resource bundles produced alongside it. Copying only the executable can break resource discovery. The ANALYZER variable applies to this terminal session; set it again in a new terminal.

Next#

Run your first analysis in the same terminal. If the build fails, use Troubleshooting and preserve the compiler version and error output.
